A charming hotel, Mar del Cabo

My husband and I love visiting new places (newly married!); so we booked a stay at Mar del Cabo as soon as we learned it had opened its doors under the promise of ‘reviving the golden years of Los Cabos’. My parents used to bring us to Cabo every summer –being from Mexicali we developed a certain fascination for going along the whole peninsula. 

Being such a fan of traveling, we ventured to this boutique hotel to disconnect from everything and give ourselves a few days off.

I must say that the cozy atmosphere embraces you the moment you cross the desert garden and enter the lobby. Like many properties in the area, the access is several feet high from the beach, so the view that welcomes you is spectacular.

Their suites are the most comfortable and I felt at home with artful details and Mexican style, blown glass, crafts, and good taste all around.

The service one can experience here deserves a separate mention; it may be that they have the same standards as Grand Velas –sister property–, the truth is we felt taken care at every moment by Gerardo -general manager- and all his staff, just as if they had welcomed us into their own home.

Every morning our waiter had the perfect recommendation; our attentive Concierge shared tips to visit incredible places of Los Cabos (and I really thought I knew everything); the courtesy turndown service at night is a detail greatly appreciated as you feel invited to leave everything behind and finally relax; and the special services such as oceanfront massages and fire pits, are a super plus.

We cannot wait to go back.

P.S. The cocktails at the bar next to the pool are unmissable!
