December on the beach was something that never came through my head. My family and I usually stay at home during that season, but we wanted last year to be different. As I saw many excellent reviews about Grand Velas Los Cabos on Tripadvisor, we thought that resort would be a great option.
I was not wrong! My husband and two sons realized that Grand Velas Los Cabos was the best choice, and I’m going to tell you why.

A memorable check-in
The minute you step in, you know you’re going to have a unique experience. You are treated like royalty from the moment you get out of the car.
When we arrived at the resort and walked into the majestic open-air reception area, overlooking stunning views of the sea, and decorated with beautiful Christmas ornaments, we were so delighted we almost couldn’t believe it was real!
Stylish suites
We were stunned by the size of our One Bedroom Governor Suite. It features unimagined amenities for the whole family. My husband was delighted by expansive views of the Sea of Cortez from our oversized balcony, and our kids fell in love with the insuite Christmas tree and ornaments.

Attentive service
Unlike other resorts, the Velas’ staff is what makes the difference. Our suite concierge took care of any request we had. She was wonderful, made reservations at restaurants ensuring my husband requests, who is vegetarian, were taken care of. Our pool attendant made sure our hands always had drinks and that’s just wonderful. Every need and desire was met.
Kids and Teens
The Kids’ and Teens’ Club were amazing! We trusted our daughter was supervised at all times. With so many exciting activities that I’ve never seen before, you won’t believe what the hotel offers: huichol art, night mini camping, aquatic ball in the pool, mini Spa, Christmas boot décor, and much more.
My 15-year-old son had a great time too. Xbox tournaments, disco night, smoothie lessons, karaoke, and air hockey tournaments: the resort offers countless exciting activities that it was hard for him to leave the resort!

A getaway with my husband
As my husband and I needed a break to relax and forget the daily routine, we took advantage of the babysitting service. We had a great time singing karaoke with other guests, and dancing in the retro night at the Sky Bar. It was a fantastic escape!
Superb dining
Every restaurant was fantastic and impeccably decorated. From authentic French, Italian and Mexican cuisine to the culinary creations of a Two Star Michelin chef at Cocina de Autor. My sons liked the Velas 10 restaurant the best. My husband and I tried the ceviche with mezcal and local chocolate, and they were all mind-blowing. We were incredibly impressed!

A fantastic Christmas
Spending December at Grand Velas Los Cabos was the best decision we could make. Just picture this: a beautiful Christmas farm at the central garden, amazing holiday-themed ornaments everywhere, a Christmas show by the kids’ playground, a giant Jenga, and an unforgettable New Year’s Eve dinner at Terraza del Mar. Just to mention a few activities.
One-of-a-kind Spa
But the absolute highlight of our stay is the incredible Spa. There is a 7-step water ceremony not to be missed: sauna, steam with chromotherapy, ice room, mud room, sensory shower, polar pool, Jacuzzi, thermal lounges…It was a truly revitalizing experience!
Grand Velas Los Cabos is a heavenly place with heavenly experiences guaranteed. I only ever recommend accommodation and experiences I truly loved. Best food, best services, and best accommodations. Grand Velas Los Cabos is the right place. Cannot wait to go back this December!
